Veteran anarchist and member of Workers Solidarity Federation, the Pakistan affiliate of IWA, has been arrested and detained by Karachi Police at a demonstration to protest against religious extremists who killed a doctor in Karachi accused of blasphemy.

Also arrested were WSF comrades Sindhu, Zahra, Nasir, Jami and her daughter along with about 600 activists despite it being a lawful protest.

WSF Karachi has attracted the ire of 'zombie Islamists' for their protests against the killing Mahsa Amini by religious police of Iran in 2022 and the public demonstrations in Karachi in support of transgender rights last year.

Now the Peoples Party government of Sindh province have ordered the Karachi Police to suppress the protests against the murderous religious extremists.

ASF-IWA stands in solidarity with our comrades in Pakistan. Wherever and whenever it happens in the world, an attack on one IWA affiliate is an attack on all.
